Justice for Elizabeth Henry

Twenty-six years is a long time to wait for justice. We understand that journey.

There are people who know something about the murder of Elizabeth Henry, whose badly beaten body was found on 12 February 1998 at Samford, Brisbane.

Elizabeth was 30-year-old mother of six children – pregnant with her seventh – when she was murdered. Her children have grown up without a mother but not without the trauma of losing her. And not without the haunting questions about why she was killed and by who.

If you can help answer those question, now is the time. If you need more incentive, a $500,000 reward has now been announced for information assisting in solving this murder.

My sister Melissa was a mother of two when she was beaten to death aged 22, in 1994. Like Elizabeth, she’d found her way into sex work for a time but her heart and aspiration was for home and family. Something she did not live long enough to achieve.

Like Elizabeth, Melissa received numerous horrific and fatal injuries to her head, and there was an attempt to hide her body. These are similarities no one wants to have to consider.

Perhaps I’ll never know what happened to Melissa, but maybe together we can make a difference for Elizabeth and her family.
